Charity Quiz Night - Bristol

Charity Quiz Night, 2008

Last night saw Hewitson Walker host their annual Quiz Night at Racks in Clifton, Bristol.  All proceeds raised from the evenings fun ‘n’ games were donated to the local charity, The Rainbow Centre.  Angela Emms, Centre Director, who attended the event, took a few moments to introduce the charity and it’s work before joining the Hewitson Walker team in welcoming all the teams and getting the quiz under way.

With over 100 people from across Bristol’s professional finance world in attendance, the event was packed out and an air of competition settled over the room.  The quizmaster, Andrew, lent some Irish charm and banter to the proceedings and the craic was deadly! Glasses were charged and all entrants to the quiz were more than generous in their donation of raffle prizes.

On the stroke of half nine, final scores on the doors were delivered amid much anticipation.  Congratulations to the winning team Sexy Midnight Runners from The Soil Association.  They collected the 1st prize of a day-out at Hamburger Hill’s Paintball for a team of 6.  The second team, New Kids on the Block, from PDB Accountancy & Coaching were unluckily pipped to the post in the final round.  Their prize was donated by Laser Fusion and offered a free game for the whole team.  Third prize was picked up by The Dirty Half Dozen from Hanson who secured a bottle of wine each.

The night was a resounding success and Angela received a total of £420 on behalf of The Rainbow Centre.  This will cover the cost of providing a complete 14-session therapy course for a child whose family have been affected by bereavement, life threatening illness and cancer.

Hewitson Walker wishes to thank all those involved in the evening.  We look forward to seeing you all again at next years event!
