Hewitson Walker Bristol Charity Quiz Night 2010

Hewitson Walker hosted their popular Charity Quiz Night at Racks in Clifton, Bristol. All the proceeds raised from the evening’s fun ‘n’ games were donated to the local charity, Above & Beyond Charities. Lorna Clarke, Head of Corporate Fundraising, and her team from Above & Beyond attended the night and took a few moments to introduce the charity and its vital work in the University Hospitals across Bristol.

Once again the night was well attended and featured 100+ guests from across Bristol’s professional finance world.  With this many accountants all under one roof…the air was set for a tough competition.

The top table creaked under the weight of the raffle prizes donated by all entrants to the quiz and a number of generous local organisations. As the bar tab increased, so did the banter and spirits were high.

On the stroke of half nine, final scores on the doors were delivered amid much anticipation. Congratulations to the winning team, Harold Bishops Red Speedos, from MyAccountant.co.uk. They collected the 1st prize of a day-out at Hamburger Hill’s Paintball. The Mud Club, from The Soil Association were unable to defend their top spot and finished in the runner-up place. Their prize was a crate of wine, perhaps apt for drowning their sorrows? Third prize was picked up by Quizzie Rascals from Project People, who collected a box of pies, donated by Pieminster.

The night was a resounding success and Lorna and her team received a total of £600 on behalf of Above & Beyond Charities. This money will go to providing and enhancing much needed equipment and technology for the Bristol Heart Institute.
